About Byrons Oak Property Investments
Director Trevor Peat is based in Nottinghamshire and is an experienced investor of 20 years and full time for 5 years. Trevor invests and operates around the East Midlands area, having mostly concentrated on BRRR, single lets and building a team of trades to help him. Trevors experience includes looking for HMOs , land and single lets.
Geographical Area: North Nottinghamshire / Derbyshire Border, and East Midlands
Focus Strategies: Buy Refurb Refinance Rent (BRRR), Buy-To-Let (BTL), Flips, HMO & Land/Development
What does NAPSA Membership mean to you and your business?
I think it is important to first get all the compliance in place and NAPSA Is the gold standard for this along with keeping you updated with any legal changes. I am looking forward to networking with other members and investors, not just in my own area but others as well.
Why did you start a property sourcing business?
I started sourcing, as being an investor myself, I have a passion for property, also I could not buy everything. The standard of some of the sourcing agents that contacted me was pretty poor , so I knew I could do better.
What made you choose your sourcing location?
I have been investing around my local area, or working there for over 20 years. So I have a good knowledge and understanding of the area, including the transport connection infrastructure, the various schools and the employment opportunities in the area.
What has been your most interesting or favourite experience in the property sector so far?
I think what I like most about property investing, is when you have changed a run down house into a modern home for someone. It has given me more personal time as well, since I went full time.
What questions do investors often ask you?
A common question is on the subject of fees – We try to keep our fees in line with local estate agents. Another regular question is about our procedure from start to finish.
What makes your business different to other sourcing agents?
We have the experience other sourcing agents do not. We are also lucky to be in one of the best areas of the country to invest in – North Nottinghamshire, North Derbyshire border area, with reasonable prices and decent rental demand.
What would you advise to someone looking to get into the property sourcing sector?
I would strongly advise anyone looking to start property sourcing, to get fully compliant and trained properly and NAPSA is the gold standard for that.
What’s your business goal for the future?
A goal for myself would be to team up with other compliant property sourcers, in other areas to share deals.
